"There's a distinction," Braff explains, "a revival means bringing back the original people and the vibe, while a reboot would be a complete rethink with new talent."
The Infamous Ninth Season
The ninth season of Scrubs, often considered a controversial departure, is addressed. Braff shares that creator Bill Lawrence wished it had a different title, intended as a spin-off titled "Scrubs: Med School." This would have clarified the shift in focus to a new group of medical students.
Faison adds, "I think fans can appreciate it as an Elseworld or multiverse story. The revival goes back to the old universe, and I like to think of season 9 as a multiverse tale."
