New Orleans Saints Offense Explodes: Kellen Moore's Vision with Tyler Shough and Chris Olave (2026)

The New Orleans Saints are making waves, and it's all thanks to Kellen Moore's offensive vision! On December 21, 2025, the Saints' strategic offensive plays started to pay off, as they dominated the New York Jets with a score of 29-6. This victory was largely driven by a dynamic passing game, orchestrated by Moore and spearheaded by a rookie quarterback of his choosing. But it wasn't just the quarterback; the whole team stepped up! The Saints have now achieved a three-game winning streak, a feat they haven't accomplished since 2022!

Let's dive into the standout performances. Wide receiver Chris Olave had a stellar game against the Jets, recording his best performance of the season with 10 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns was a 38-yard pass from Taysom Hill. Even with the rookie quarterback, Tyler Shough, throwing to him, Olave averaged 12.2 yards per catch. Considering the limited support at wide receiver, Olave truly shined in a challenging situation.

And what about Shough? He impressed with his first 300-yard game against the Jets, and his stats through seven games as a starter are impressive. He's completed 159 of 233 pass attempts, achieving a completion percentage of 68.2%. He's also amassed 1,664 yards, averaging 7.1 yards per attempt. He's thrown seven touchdown passes with only four interceptions while enduring 23 sacks. We shouldn't forget his 134 rushing yards and two touchdown runs, either.

But here's where it gets controversial... It wasn't just Olave and Shough who were at the top of their game. Tight end Juwan Johnson caught eight of nine passes thrown his way for 89 yards, including a crucial 31-yard reception that helped the Saints escape their own red zone. Taysom Hill, despite some early mistakes, bounced back with 42 rushing yards, 36 receiving yards, and that 38-yard touchdown pass to Olave.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. The running back corps, hampered by injuries, didn't provide much support, and the offensive line was exposed as a weakness. Rookie left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. had some rough moments. Finding an upgrade at left guard could alleviate some pressure on him, a problem the Saints will have to address. The good news? They seem to have found their quarterback.

What do you think? Do you agree with the assessment of the offensive line? Are you excited about the future of the Saints with Kellen Moore's offensive strategy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
